Fisher F75

Fisher F75

The F-75 is one of the lightest and best balanced of any high-performance, multi-purpose metal detector with an LCD display and easy to understand “Target I.D.” The arm rest is comfortably positioned above the controls and adjustable to fit your arm while the grip is made from durable, high-friction foam.

The model we’re featuring comes standard with an 11” Bi-axial searchcoil. It’s versatile and deep-seeking, making it effective for any type of detecting. Because it is waterproof you can submerge this coil into either salt or fresh water without any adverse affect on the operation of the detector – this is perfect for hunting in the shallow waters of beaches and rivers as well as on land!

The backlit LCD display of the F-75 keeps the entire menu visible at all times. This is one of the most informative interfaces on any metal detector and features information on the battery condition, Target I.D., ground mineralization, target depth and even help messages! The F-75 also features a “reset function” which will allow you to save settings you input, even after the detector has been turned off.

I have detected now for over 35 years, and like many others went through the typical evolution from coin shooter, to competition hunter, and general detecting enthusiast to Colonial Relic hunter.

Not being a slave to a particular brand or manufacturer, my main goal was to find a machine that produced - period - and my Fisher F75 has not only met, but surpassed my expectations. I found the ergonomics to be superb, and the controls intuitive and easy to navigate. There is everything you need in the menu, and nothing you don't. No scrolling though settings you'll never use with this machine!!

Battery life is nothing short of phenomenal. More than twice the hours you might expect from 4 AA batteries. Depth is also very very good, and compares to any of the deepest machines out there. The Fisher 75's biggest strength however is its lightning fast "Real time" audio and recovery speed. This equates to less masking, and many more recoveries. The pure performance of this machine has MORE than doubled my finds in the types of sites I hunt, which are typically colonial cellar holes and fields. I've made many many recoveries in the year I've owned my F75 that I've credited to the machine...not the man.

It simply 'sees' more than many other machines out there. I recovered a Spanish Reale cache last fall with the F75 at a VERY heavily hunted cellar hole in Connecticut, that many other hunters had missed. That made a believer out of me! The F75 also seem to be very durable. I USE my machines, and dont baby them. My sites tend to be rough on machines, due to the rocks, branches, and heavy brush I typically encounter. If I cant break it, its pretty tough!! To sum it up, I'd rate the F75 5 stars in every catagory. Ease of use. Simplicity of design. Raw depth and power. Fantastic separation qualities. I love it!!!

There is nothing like the thrill of pulling a 300 year old relic or coin from a long forgotten spot. This type of hunting accounts for 99% of my time spent in the field the last few years. I've owned virtually every major brand of detector over the past 30 years, and used them all extensively in the field. I'm not one of those fellas that change machines every month or so. I put them though their paces!

I got my first metal detector in 1974; it was a Heath Kit that my Father and I put together. Within a day or two, I found our neighbors lost wedding ring and was hooked for life.
Since then, I've tried them all for the most part but the new Fisher F-75 stands out amongst the best.

With plenty of raw power, easy of use, exceptional battery life, fantastic notching in discriminate mode, a true all metal mode, multiple tone selections, a large ID and lighted display, and weighing in at only three pounds. Well it's everything a hobbyist could ask for!

Separation quality on this unit is second. To none, matter of fact, it will get right down in between the iron in heavy trash areas and sniff out the goodies better than any I've tried in thirty four years of detecting.

For you relic hunters out there, this IS the detector you should try, especially if you l like to hunt hard all day long and not worry about battery life or being worn out within a few hours from swinging a heavy unit. I know some of you may doubt what I'm saying here but a good set of four AA batteries will go 70 hours before the battery meter starts to drop. you can't beat this machine for the money and its capabilities.

Oh yeah, it comes with environmental covers for the display and battery housing included in one of the nicest looking Fishers boxes I've ever seen. They even throw in a set of batteries to get you off to a good start, and a manual that well lay out and easy to understand.

Also, I want to mention that the dealers have a hard time keeping them on the shelf, so contact Kellyco and get yours on the way. You'll love it for the beach, coin or relic hunting, and oh yeah, it sniffs out gold nuggets pretty good too.

I started metal detecting back in the early '70's when I bought a metal detector from an ad in the back of Popular Mechanics magazine. Needless to say, it was a piece of junk! Since then I have owned many different models of detectors. Last summer, a friend advised me that what I needed now was a new Fisher F-75.

We metal detect in the Mackinaw City, St. Ignace areas of northern Michigan for relics from the "fur trade era." The Fisher F-75 has turned out to be the best detector for relics that I have used to date. It's a killer on small rings, religious metals, and tinkling cones. From the start, it was very simple to set up and use. It took me a few times out to get use to the different sounds for the type of metal detected, but once I did I never looked back! It picks up smaller objects much deeper than other detectors I had been using, and I have a stock of several of the best metal detectors on the market today. So this statement comes from both years of experience and personal opinion. This has been great for all those "hunted out" areas that every one else seems to pass up.

Just take it slow and easy and listen for those slight sounds and make sure you have a shovel at hand. Those small .22 long rifle lead is a pain, but at least it's not bottle caps. If you want one of the best American made metal detectors today, the Fisher F-75 is the way to go. I'd rate it a 9.5 out of 10.

I purchased this machine in April 2007 after reading lots of positive reviews and out of my extensive experience with Fisher metal detectors in general. I found the F75 quite tiring to the ear to begin with but due to its exceptional depth capability plus the fact that this model possesses one of the fastest recovery ratios in the business, I persevered with it and soon after words it started to reward me.

All the recommendations that I read suggested it to be used in Disc mode at various levels depending on ground being searched etc, but after many days of practice I decided to experiment with the all metal mode and rely on the audio plus digital readout before making the all critical "dig" or no "dig" decision. Now, I know several other people who also have tried this method and simply could not cope with the continuous and, according to some, also irritable background noise regardless of level of sensitivity being used.

Although it is a fact that most detector models that have an "all metal" mode are notably difficult to get along with due to the high volume of signals received that are not always easy to interpret, the Fisher F75 is a breath of fresh air so long as one knows how to tame it. The key element with this machine-and equally with very many others too- is the set up of the manual ground balance. Set this right and combine it with the adequate level of sensitivity for the particular land being detected and I can vouch there is no finer performer at any price, Minelabs included.

I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to use/test virtually every new model from all the leading brands of detectors in the 35 year span that I have been associated with the hobby and I feel I have the knowledge and background to know what I am talking about here. I can run my Fisher F75 in the all metal mode with the right sensitivity, ground balance and threshold to an almost smooth continuous background audio on my headphones that will alert me of the slightest sound variation that results in above average ratio of good items (analyzed) detected.

This is by no means easy to maintain without further adjustments and this why I believe, a manual ground compensation feature will always be superior to a fixed or "auto" one favored by many manufacturers, albeit, at the expense of that extra tweak here and there as the ground dictates it. The Fisher F75 does not only go deep, it is extremely sensitive to all types of non ferrous (not just copper) and my specialty, in my part of the world, is to dig out those elusive wafer thin silver hammered coins and the Fisher properly "driven" will find them for you.

This is a fantastic unit which can pick out a dime in the middle of a bunch of garbage. It took a few days to learn but it's worth it. I can't say enough about the accuracy of this unit. I love it. It is very light and I can search all day without tiring out my arm but my legs get tired of bending to dig all the coins. I had no idea how much money is in the ground until I bought this baby! Worth every penny! Three days in, I found a silver quarter from 1964.

We recommend the following accessories for this product:

Heavy Duty Recovery Bag

Stereo Headphones
